The Debt of Love: Ch 15

Ch 15

The two of them were now in bed, with Ron’s bare arms wrapped around Leila’s naked body…they were asleep…sound asleep until Ron suddenly woke up. He woke up to realize that all that had happened was neither a nightmare nor a hallucination but in fact reality, a reality that he had truly not hoped for.

Ron thinking to himself:

What have I done? This time I’ve gone too far…I acted like such a jerk to her. The saddest part of all is…she does love me…but I can’t just manipulate her feelings like that…it’s not right. This time I’ve actually taken away her virginity for real. She deserves her first time with someone who loves her rather a jerk like me…who only did it to prove a point. It’s not right…but I had to do it…it’s for the good of the organization and…for her. She had to know the truth…and there was no other way I could have kept her silence if I hadn’t done what I did. Yes…that’s right…there was nothing wrong with my actions…I did it with good intentions…that’s right…good intentions.

~End~

But are good intentions good enough? Good enough to manipulate someone’s feelings…indulge yourself into a relationship where there is no love whatsoever? Are good intentions enough for someone to do all of that? Those questions were still in the air but Ron was now in denial…there wasn’t anything else he could do. So he closed his eyes and went to sleep and thought of happy thoughts…now what was in his happy thoughts was of course Linda. No matter how bad a situation may be…as long as he knows that one day he may end up with Linda…he’ll be happy. He continued to sleep and even snored…but with a smile on his face.

Soon after Ron had went back to sleep Leila slowly opened her eyes. She opened her eyes to realize that she was in a hotel room and that she was with Ron who had his arms wrapped around her naked and petit body. She had realized that what had happened last night really did happen. She felt betrayed…but had to move on. She couldn’t believe in Ron a hundred percent for he worked for the organization and she knew that the organization had always wanted to bring down Father. She believed that this possibly could be another one of their schemes so that Leila would end up betraying Father and helping out the organization. She tried to believe that but she couldn’t. She remembered that look on Ron’s face as he told her what he called as the truth. She remembered his tone of voice…every little gesture that he made…and knew that he was not lying. She knew for she had a background in psychology and should be able to tell if he was lying or not. But she couldn’t believe what he said was true…maybe she was in denial…but she just couldn’t believe that the man who she saw as a father actually was the one who had destroyed her family.

She lied there restless and now wide-awake. A smile suddenly appeared on her face as she turned over to Ron and saw him smiling. She couldn’t believe her eyes that what she saw was real. For one thing…he was the first person who she ever had feelings for. Maybe she was naïve but she knew that she loved him and hoped that he felt the same. In his arms she felt as though all of her troubles went away and everything was beautiful and fine. But this was not the reality…for she also knew the fact that nothing was fine…nothing at all.

Once again she turned to look at him and he began to mutter something with a smile on his face…

Ron muttering in his sleep: Will you marry me?

Hearing the first part to what he was saying a smile appeared on her face and just made her feel oh so wonderful.

Ron: I love you…Linda…marry me?

With that being said…he wrapped his arms around her even tighter…but what he didn’t realize was the fact that this had made her very unhappy. For one thing she wasn’t Linda…she was Leila…the one who he has been playing around with like a fool. A tear trickled down her flawless cheek as she tried to suck in the tears…but it didn’t work. More and more tears came rolling down her cheek…she soon closed her eyes and tried to escape this painful reality…and go into her realm of fantasy.

She began to dream…

~Leila’s dream~

An old man and an old lady were at the park sitting on the park bench. They’ve been together probably for more than 40 years. Their hair was white, their backs were hunched but they still held hands as they sat on the park bench watching their grandchildren play. They smiled and looked at each other.

Old Man: I have to be honest with you

Old Woman: What is it?

Old Man: For the past 40 years…I’ve never truly loved you…

The old woman looked at the old man with a tear trickling her cheek…

Old Woman: I know…I know you never loved me…but I don’t care…as long as I love you, that’s enough.

The old man held onto the old woman’s hand and looked into her eyes and smiled.

Old Man: I’ve been so unfair to you…and even though you found out the truth…you still decided to be by my side…I guess it is only fair to try to whole heartedly love you…

Old Woman smiled: That’s all I ever wanted to hear from you…

~End~

Maybe the old woman loved the old man so much that she didn’t care if he had any feelings whatsoever for her. And not surprisingly that old woman that Leila had dreamt of was actually herself. She only wished to be with him till the day her hair was gray and she has become all wrinkly. But she truly wanted him to be there every step of the way as she aged…for she actually and truly loved him. Even though she now knows that he doesn’t feel the same…she only wants to be with him…and nothing will stop her…even Father. She had made up her mind…and decided to do what she never thought of doing ever before…believe in someone else other than Father…and believe what Ron said was the truth. Her time was running out with Father anyways…almost a month past by and she was unsuccessful…at this rate, she knew that she would be killed by Father anyhow. Instead of being finished off like some of the others…she would rather be with the one she loved…and even if death was her consequence she was willing to neglect it…

  1. Oh I feel sorry for Leila, now she knows Ron doesn't really love her, and she still love him after all.
